Connect your bank

Link Canadian banks and credit cards with Plaid — import up to 24 months of history, manage which accounts are shared, sync automatically, reconnect or disconnect anytime.

Purpose: Link Canadian chequing, savings, and credit cards so Klyrr imports history and keeps transactions syncing automatically — without uploading files by hand.

App page: Menu → Accounts (app.klyrr.ca/.../app/accounts).

Connect a bank

  1. Open Accounts.
  2. Tap Connect a bank.
  3. Choose your bank or credit card issuer in secure Plaid Link and sign in there (not on a Klyrr form).
  4. Select the accounts you want to share (chequing, savings, credit cards).
  5. Confirm. Klyrr imports up to 24 months of history when your institution supports it, then syncs new activity automatically (typically daily).

Privacy: Klyrr never sees your bank password. Connections use Plaid; access tokens are encrypted at rest. Only you can disconnect.

Works with Canada's major banks — TD, RBC, Scotiabank, BMO, CIBC — and most other Canadian institutions, plus Desjardins, Tangerine, Simplii, National Bank, and credit cards when available via Plaid.

After you connect

  • Status may show Syncing, Recent transactions ready, or History synced while the first import finishes.
  • Use Sync now if you want a fresh pull sooner.
  • If you see Reconnection required, tap Reconnect and complete Plaid Link again (banks sometimes ask you to re-approve access).

Manage accounts (add or remove sub-accounts)

Opened a new savings account, credit card, or line of credit at a bank you already connected? Or want to stop sharing one account without disconnecting the whole institution?

  1. On Accounts, find the institution card.
  2. Tap Manage accounts (before Sync now).
  3. In Plaid Link, check or uncheck the accounts you want Klyrr to access — chequing, savings, credit cards, and other products your bank shares.
  4. Confirm. Klyrr syncs so newly shared accounts appear and start importing; accounts you remove stop syncing.

Notes
- Existing transactions from an account you remove stay in Klyrr; only future sync for that account stops.
- Some banks (especially OAuth flows) show their own account picker — follow the on-screen steps from your bank.
- Manage accounts updates what you share on an existing connection; it does not create a second connection to the same institution.
- Sync now only refreshes data for accounts you already share — it does not open account selection.

Disconnect

  1. On Accounts, open the institution card.
  2. Choose Disconnect and confirm.
  3. Future syncs stop. Existing transactions stay in Klyrr.

Still prefer files or receipts?

  • One-off statement uploads: Menu → Import (see Import bank statements).
  • Cash or in-store purchases your feed may miss: tap + and snap a receipt.

Tips
- Connect once, then let daily sync do the heavy lifting.
- You can connect more than one institution (e.g. bank + credit card).
- After you open a new product at a linked bank, use Manage accounts so Klyrr can import it.
- Prefer not to connect? You can still use snap, manual entry, and Import anytime.
