Add spending with receipt snap

Capture purchases with camera, gallery, or manual entry; edit, exclude, or remove transactions so budgets and AI stay accurate.

Purpose: Capture every purchase quickly so categories, budgets, and AI stay accurate.

From the + button

  1. Tap + (or menu → Transactions → add).
  2. Choose how to capture:
    - Camera — photograph the receipt
    - Gallery — pick existing photos
    - Paste / multi — useful for several receipts or bank screenshots (up to 8 images)
    - Manual — type amount, merchant, category, date, account
  3. Let AI analyze when prompted; review the prefilled fields.
  4. Confirm the account (must be one you can write to).
  5. Save one transaction, or save bulk when multiple were detected.

Edit, exclude, or remove a transaction

  1. Open Transactions, find the row (use period / category / amount filters or views: list, merchant, type, category, tags).
  2. Use the menu on a row, or open detail:
    - Edit — change amount, category, notes, and more.
    - Exclude — keep the transaction in your ledger, but omit it from income, spending, budgets, and the calendar (useful for family e-Transfers or other money that shouldn’t count as income or spending). You can Include it again later.
    - Archive / Delete — hide it from lists (restore from History when needed).
  3. To act on several at once: tap Select above the list, choose transactions, then Exclude, Archive, or Delete (each asks for confirmation). Tap Done when finished.
  4. On Edit, you can also tick Exclude before saving.
  5. Scope (above the filters) can Hide excluded or Show excluded. Matched card payments and inter-account transfers are excluded automatically, so use this one control to hide or review them along with anything you excluded yourself.

Tips
- Snap right after paying — don’t batch a week later.
- Crop tightly around the receipt for better AI reads.
- If AI is unavailable, enter manually — accuracy still helps budgets.
- Use clear merchant names so the AI Assistant and subscriptions work better.
- Use min/max amount filters when hunting for a specific size of purchase or transfer.
